Synaptic Therapy

Synaptic therapy is an FDA-approved technique for muscle stimulation and pain management. The treatment stimulates nerve impulses along the spine and increases levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in several body functions. Low serotonin levels are associated with sleep disorders, depression, and conditions such as fibromyalgia. By increasing the production of serotonin, synaptic therapy can achieve dynamic results.

Synaptic therapy was developed in Canada and was highly researched by the government's medical dept. in pain management centers, sleep disorder clinics, and post-surgical facilities. Results from a four-year study involving thousands of patients showed that the treatment had a 90% success rate in raising serotonin levels in the blood and cerebral spinal fluid to normal within two months. Synaptic therapy dramatically improved the recovery time for patients who had undergone surgery; in addition, the treatment eliminated or greatly reduced pain for patients who suffered from fibromyalgia

Dr. Halverson was among the first to use synaptic therapy in the United States and believes it's a great asset to enhanced biomechanical treatment plans. Serotonnin and dopamine, both released in synaptic treatment, are extremely powerful natural pain mediators, shown to be stronger in pain relief than morphine, but with no side effects. Dopamine is a missing link in Parkinson`s disease and therefore plays an important role in neuromuscular function. Because this therapy releases these and other biochicals, it is extremely effective for post traumatic and chronic pain syndromes and facilitates documented faster healing response.
